Formative assessment is knowing where each student is in the learning process. It is checks for understanding as you teach your curriculum. It lets me know which students need additional assistance with specific content along the way. If I use formative assessments effectively, each student should be able to successfully complete the summative assessment - a reason to celebrate learning!!!
